Prior to adoption, all homeless dogs are kept in foster families where they are socialized, trained and rehabilitated if necessary. All dogs are spayed or neutered, updated on vaccination and their behavior is evaluated carefully. Some organizations use microchips for the permanent identification. Many dogs that have been given up by their owners have health problems and require special care. Adopters that are flexible in the gender, color and size of the dog have a chance to get a dog soon, but if you want a high quality puppy you have to wait long.
