There are dogs of this breed that fit the roles of a good family pet, a perfect hunting companion, an excellent obedience worker and therapy animal. If a dog is specially trained and given enough exercise, it can perform many tasks and fit to any lifestyle. Numerous breed clubs and volunteer organizations all over the world unite hundreds of members whose interest in the breed has led them to develop the breed’s potential, promote the breed, educate the public about responsible ownership and help purebred dogs in need find new loving families.

It involves much time and effort to find suitable homes for every dog in need. The majority of these organizations are volunteer and non-profit, so they rely on donations from adopters and will receive any help from anyone who wants to help abandoned dogs. Everybody is welcome to have a foster dog in the home. Foster families assess the dogs’ behavior and decide what kind of an owner the animal needs. If the dog has been abused by the owner, it requires rehabilitation, socialization, basic training and special care.
