Dogs should not be taken to a new home before they are 8 weeks old; reputable breeders don’t allow looking at the litter before the dogs are 4 weeks of age. Reputable breeders sell their dogs with all necessary documents, pedigrees and health certificates. Before the arrival of the new member of your family, you should get ready as if it would be a child. You should ask the breeder about the food the dog has been on.
