The majority of dogs for adoption are adult, senior or animals with special needs. Puppies surrendered by their owners often have behavior problems. They need socialization and early obedience training. Most puppies are destructive. Even a well-behaved puppy when teething will destroy anything it can get to. A puppy requires constant attention and consistent housetraining, because it cannot hold its bladder for long and should be taken out every 2-3 hours, including the middle of the night.
