Most purebred dogs are sold with the agreement that the animal will be neutered. The breed was developed in the 19th century specially for participating in hunting and finding, and retrieving game. The dogs of this breed are rather large (21-24 inches in height and 55-57 lbs in weight.) The breed is easily recognizable by its beautiful coat. The dogs of this breed are symmetrical and well put together. Their head is broad and laterally arched with a straight muzzle; the eyes are dark, not very large and set well apart.
